Discover Venezuela
Just off the Northern coast of Venezuela lies some of the best fishing waters on earth. Yes, the Bahamas are closer, but with the price of fuel topping $5 gallon, it makes more sense to fly a bit further for fishing that is incredible AND the cost to run the yacht much more affordable. As of March 2008, the price for fuel is about 18¢ per gallon in Venezuela. The cost difference for fuel alone makes a trip to Venezuela enticing. What waits under the water for you is even more exciting: Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Spearfish, Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo and Swordfish. This area gives you the best chance in the world to catch all the species in the same day.
Day 1: Fly into Caracas where you will be met and chauffeured to Marina Portofino, about a 40 minute ride. Once onboard Marlinizer, the lines will be thrown off and you will head out to play! Fish the rest of the day, come back to the dock to relax over dinner and swap fishing tales.
Day 2-6: Fish all day, come back to the dock, relax over dinner and swap fishing tales.
Day 7: Fish in the morning, return to Caracas just in time to catch your plane home. A perfect holiday. Okay, okay. Maybe you want to do more than fish. That’s okay, lovely Margarita Island, known as the “Pearl of the Caribbean” is situated about 20 miles north east of the mainland. It’s location as an island in the Caribbean guarantees sugar white beaches to explore. Margarita Island is divided into two sections linked by a sand spit which separates the sea from the fascination Restinga Lagoon
National Park. Most of the people live on the eastern section where the shoppers paradise of Porlamar is located. Most of the restaurants and bars are also located here and duty free shopping dominates the stores.
In essence, if you want to spend your whole holiday fishing, you will be in paradise. If one or more guests would rather shop or golf or go exploring on land, that is always an option. Drop them off in Porlamar and go fishing all day then and meet up with them at the end of the day. A perfect holiday for everyone.
