Day 1:Arrive Staniel Cay and board Slumber Venture at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club.
Enjoy the local charm of the Staniel Cay settlement. Snorkel around Lumbar Cay and climb
around the sand bluffs. Dive the famous Thunder Ball Cave at slack tide and bring a few
snacks for the hundreds of overly friendly fish. As the sun starts to lower in the afternoon visit the wild pigs on Big Majors beach.
Day 2: Cruise in the tender up the intricate passages up Pipe Creek, stopping in the
cuts between the cays to do a little fishing, possibly catching a glimpse of a passing school
of bonefish, making your way to Compass Cay to pet the nurse sharks at the small marina
docks. Rendezvous with the Slumber Venture at the Rocky Dundas rocks where there are
two generous openings to two caves that rise well above your head like church cathedrals
full of ancient old stilagtites and stilagmites. In front of the caves entrance beautiful large
but very fragile branches of Elkhorn Coral just full of a wide spectrum of reef fish. Move into
Bell Island anchorage for the night.

Day 3: South of Bell Island, scuba dive or snorkel Pillar Coral Reef in the middle of
Conch Cut. If the tide is running in it is a pleasant relaxing drift dive. Move up towards
Hallspond on the Venture stopping at the Sea Aquarium by Soldier Cay for a snorkel in a
little area abundant with tropical fish. Cruise up to the south anchorage of Warderick Wells
and picnic at the Pirates Lair. Either stay here for the night or move up to the stunning
protective north anchorage in front of the head quarters for the Exuma Cays Land and Sea
Park. Before moving, a dive on Jeep reef on the west side of Hallspond is a must, one of the
prettiest 30 foot dives in the Exumas.

Day 4: Visit the Park headquarters. Under the dinghy dock, check out “ Doc’s Reef”, a
very visible habitat that is home to an array of reef fish, resident horse eye jacks that swim
in at high tide and ”Bubba”, a friendly lemon shark. Take an early morning walk to the top
of Booboo Hill and watch the sun come up over the Exuma sound. Depart on Slumber
Venture. A 10 minute run out of the anchorage will take you into wide opening to Danger
Reef for a 55 foot dive amongst resident reef sharks, and large pelagic fish. Feast your eyes
on some of the most magnificent huge webs of black gorgonians in the area. A few rocks
to the north dive on Parrot Fish Reef for a nice shallow dive teaming with schools of
Bermuda Chubs and an incredible variety of Parrot Fish.
Head back to Staniel Cay and one last stop at Sampson Cay to see the whole back
anchorage turn into an incredibly beautiful sea of sand as the whole area turns into one big
sand bar at low tide.
