Pacific Northwest Itinerary
Day 1: Depart from Anacortes, WA - Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island, which along
with Camano Island, are the only two San Juan islands accessible by road from the
mainland. Cruise to Orcas Island’s East Sound.
Day 2: Awake early and have coffee with the deer on shore and the eagles soaring
above. Lopez Island is next, where we will stop at one of the bays for a picnic. Overnight
at Fisherman’s Bay on Lopez or another nearby cove.
Day 3: Friday Harbor on San Juan Island is our next destination. Take a self-guided
walking tour of the historic district and visit the Historical Museum. Stroll the Port of
Friday Harbor waterfront park with “Portals of Welcome,” the Coast Salish houseposts
carved by renowned native artist Susan Point.
Day 4: Cruise to serine Roche Harbor on the North end of San Juan Island. Visit
the picturesque Roche Harbor Resort with its beautiful gardens, cafes and shops. This
historic resort is a former lime quarry with hiking trails, a fascinating mausoleum and
within walking to the Sculpture Park.
Day 5: Today we head for Sucia Island Marine State Park. Explore the abundant tide
pools teeming with limpets, starfish, snails sea urchins, sea anemone and crabs.
Day 6: Cruise to Saanich Inlet in the Gulf Islands of Canada where fishing is
abundant in the fjord’s deep waters. There are quaint little towns and villages to be
explored or just sunning and relaxing onboard.
Day 7: In the Saanich Inlet is the world famous Butchart Gardens. We will enter
through a “cruisers only” gate and explore the gardens. A beautiful British Tea House
where high tea is served daily is a special treat.
Day 8: Today we head for Sidney. Sidney, located on Vancouver Island’s other side has
the feel of a boating destination resort community. We continue on towards Victoria and
overnight in Cadboro Bay.
Day 9: Time to visit Victoria, British Columbia. This harbor town is full of history and is
fun to explore. The Parliament Buildings, bathed in lights at night are not to be missed!
Day 10: Departing Victoria Harbor we will return to Anacortes through the
picturesque Haro Straight which is lined by the Cascade Mountains to port and the
Olympic Mountains to starboard. All too soon, we are back. But your memories will last
a lifetime.
