Day 1:Spend the morning in Reykjavik exploring the capital’s colorful art
galleries, cafés and museums, or take a Golden Circle tour to some of the country’s
best known hot spots. Maybe a visit to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa to indulge
in one of their special luxury spa treatments as you relax in the lagoon’s therapeutic,
milky waters. Head back to the port for a late afternoon embarkation, leaving
Faxaflói bay under the glow of the evening sun, as you cruise in the direction of the
Snæfellsnes peninsula. Overnight under the watchful eye of the mystical Snæfells
glacier.

Day 2: Wake up in the tiny picturesque harbor of Arnastrapi. Enjoy a short
walk along the cliff tops, which in summer, are home to a multitude of nesting
seabirds. The peninsula has numerous stunning geological phenomenas to explore
and is predominantly a national park area. Bizarre columnar basalt formations,
volcanic craters, amazing sea caves and legendary black sand beaches are just
some of the goodies on offer. Perhaps you would like to go snowmobiling on the
slopes of the glacier? Spend the evening cruising this beautiful peninsula before
overnighting under the cliffs at Raudisandur.

Day 3: Today will be spent exploring one of the numerous fjords found in
Iceland’s dramatic Westfjord region. This is geologically Iceland’s oldest quarters
and its unique and imposing landscape offers a wealth of opportunity for the
explorer. Take a tender ashore and discover picturesque waterfalls, spooky
abandoned farms and some of Iceland’s most fabulous and remote scenery. This is
also a great spot to do some deep sea fishing.
Day 4: Spend the day near the capital of the Westfjords, Isafjordur
(population 2,750 Dec. 2006). Visit the charming island of Vigur, with its tiny post
office and windmill. You might like to do a little sea kayaking in the most tranquil
and inspiring surroundings. Why not pay a visit to the old fisherman’s station at
Osvör and see first hand how life really was for this seafaring nation in days gone
by. There are many idyllic deserted coves in this vicinity, just waiting for you to
explore them.

Day 5: Disembark in the port of Akureyri. Take advantage of the areas
spectacular surroundings with its boiling mud pools, Luna landscapes and high
temperature thermal areas. Grab the opportunity to soak in the geothermal waters
at the highly acclaimed Nature Baths located near the spectacular Lake Myvatn.
Why not take a sightseeing tour and fly across the Arctic Circle - visit the delightful
island of Grímsey before flying back to Reykjavik and reality…
