Beautiful British Columbia
Day 1: You will be met by one of our crew at the Vancouver airport and driven
in a limousine into the picturesque downtown core of Vancouver where you will
embark the Spirit of 2010. Spend the evening dining on exquisite west coast
seafood and admiring the incredible Vancouver Skyline - relaxing in anticipation
of a voyage in mystical British Columbia.
Day 2: Your voyage towards Desolation Sound begins at dawn. You will cruise
the Straight of Georgia, along the Pacific Coast Mountains and the islands
scattered everywhere off the coast. You will be counting the endless seals you’ll
see on the way, and if you are lucky you may even spot a pod of Orca whales.
In the afternoon you will dock in Lund, the last town accessible by road on the
Sunshine Coast.
Day 3: Spend the day in beautiful Desolation Sound. Fish for Salmon and Red
Snapper, go crabbing or just pick oysters off the shoreline. Enjoy waters sports
such, hiking in the luscious rain forest, or just relax on the deck of your yacht.
Overnight in Desolation Sound by anchoring in a serene cove, watching the sun
set over the snow covered mountain peaks.
Day 4: In the morning we will cruise to an Aboriginal Indian community where
you can explore the Totem Poles and other Art crafts of the local Natives unique
to British Columbia. In the afternoon we will cruise down the Jervis Inlet where
we will be visiting the amazing Princess Louisa National Park. The inlet is almost
completely enclosed by mountains which rise sharply from the water’s edge to
elevations of 7,000 feet and more.
Day 5: We will be anchoring off Chatterbox Falls at the end of the inlet, where
wisps of fog often shroud the sheer granite walls of this secluded fjord like
waterway. Here you can choose to kayak and fish, or hike in the forest up to the
Trappers Cabin and explore the falls from up above, or have your day at leisure
and just enjoy the beauty of it all.
Day 6: We now will cruise to Secret Cove, where we will set anchor just
outside the marina. Here you can enjoy a variety of activities such as scuba
diving, bird watching, wildlife viewing from deer, eagles soaring the sky and bear
foraging the shorelines. You can visit the local floating restaurant, or even go
golfing nearby at one of four golf courses.
Day 7: In the morning of day 7, we return to Vancouver, say our goodbyes and
drive you to the airport, or to your hotel should you decide to stay for a few extra
days.
