The Balearics: The Fabulous Four
Day
1: Arrive in Ibiza and be greeted
at the airport by your captain who will accompany you to your
charter yacht. As soon as you are settled, depart for the
lovely island of Formentera to spend the day in quiet comfort,
snorkeling and swimming. Return to Ibiza for a night of fun.
Day 2: Enjoy
a leisurely breakfast (or lunch, depending on what time you
returned to the yacht from the clubs!) as you motor up the
coast of Ibiza Cala D’en Serra. This exquisite sandy
cove has turquoise waters that are perfect for snorkeling.
Dinner will be served al fresco under star-studded skies.
Following dinner, the yacht will depart for Mallorca, anchoring
off the rugged island of Cabrera if the weather is settled.
Day 3: Leave
Cabrera for Palma, taking time to explore the city, including
the La Seu Cathedral and the surrounding sights. Return to
the yacht for lunch underway as you head on up to Porto Cristo
to visit the Coves del Drac, a wonderful cave with an astounding
subterranean lake. After your visit, it is just a short cruise
up to Port d’Alcudia. Enjoy dinner on board or try out
the local cuisine.
Day
4: After breakfast, you might
opt to take a short bike ride to the Parc Natural De S’Albufera
for a walk and a chance to see unusual species of birds. Then,
back to the yacht for some watersports before leaving for
Menorca. Either anchor or dock in the capital city of Mao
(Mahon) for the evening.
Day 5:
Depart after breakfast for the northern end of Menorca, to
Fornells. This pretty fishing village is situated at the mouth
of a long bay. There are several anchorages here, each one
nicer than the one before. Your captain will choose the one
perfect for you. Spend the rest of the day playing in the
water, and the evening anchored under the stars.
Day 6:
Enjoy breakfast underway, as your yacht departs early for
the Port de Soller, a beautiful natural harbor surrounded
by the spectacular mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. If
you are a music lover, you might want to hire a car and visit
the Carthusain Monastery of Validemossa, where Chopin spent
time.
Day 7:
Take a lovely short journey back to Palma in time to depart
to the airport on Majorca, where you will catch a flight back
to Ibiza, or simply leave from Palma to your final destination.
